love

"By adopting a child and helping them reach their potential, they help us reach ours. An adopted child is not an unwanted child; to the contrary. They are a child who was searched for, prayed for, cried for, begged for; received by arms that ached, making empty hearts full. Love is meant to be shared." Author unknown

I. LOVE. THIS!

This is another one of my favorites:

We witness a miracle every time a child enters into life.
But those who make their journey home across time & miles,
growing within the hearts of those who wait to love them,
... are carried on the wings of destiny and placed among us
by God's very own hands. ~Kristi Larson~

I know you moderate the comments, so I am posting what I have sent as an email to a blogging friend or two.

Hi, I have been stalking you on your blog. I am a silent (okay, I may have commented once or twice) follower for the most part. and now I totally need a little help from you, pretty please please.

Let me sum up.

We lost a sweet baby (ectopic at 8 weeks) almost 2 years ago. The ectopic pregnancy ended my fertility. We do already have 3 lovely children. After losing our baby, we grieved deeply for a year. (we will always grieve) At the end of our year of deeply grieving, God spoke to us about His heart for the orphan, and began us on a journey to adopt. Began headed toward a domestic newborn, and the Lord moved our hearts toward school age international. Now we are in the throes of adopting two siblings from the lovely country of Latvia. (a little country that was once part of Russia; located next to the Baltic Sea) and fundraising. a lot. Because my husband is a worship pastor and I am a sahm and the Lord clearly told us not to take out a loan to adopt (now with federal adoption tax credit about to end I am very grateful for that little kiss). We also live the Dave Ramsey debt free - cash only lifestyle.

So the short of it is I am asking you to mention us. our financial need. Our Heart for His orphan. on. your. blog. Even if not one of your readers gives, they can pray for us. and prayer is what it takes (besides $$, duh) to bring 2 little siblings into their forever family.

There are many ways we are trying to raise money for our adoption. Listed in the right hand sidebar of my little blog: Coffee Sales, Online Auction (happening this weekend), Paypal button, Matching grant 501-c3 fundraiser ... you name it, we are trying it. We need over $30,000 and we believe the Lord for His supernatural provision.

So far, we have raised over $6000, by having an auction/fundraiser at a restaurant, garage sale, homemade apple butter sales, last years tax return and every penny we can spare. Our church body has given. My lovely children are even putting in their allowances. We still have $24,000 to go. And being a worship pastor & wife, all that must come by fundraising. Please help, by making your readers aware of what we need.

I know you cannot do this for everyone. I am not asking for much. Please give us a little shout out.

SO TRUE! For every infant that is adopted there are plenty of other families waiting in line for their turn.

I love this, too! So often people will look at our waiting-to-be-adopted newborns and say things like "It's so sad to see unwanted babies." They have absolutely no idea just how wanted those babies really are! Thankful I'm in on the secret. : )

I needed this today! A good friend told me about your blog, so I am a new follower. My husband and I are in the middle of trying to foster to adopt through CPS. We got a call about 3 little girls on Tuesday, supposed to come to our home today, but before they got here we learned of some circumstances in the case that made our case manager leery of the placement. We have been bummed all afternoon. Glad to find you today!

Thank you for posting this! Where did you find this quote? My husband and I have been praying and waiting for a child for years. I am happy to say a little over a month ago, we brought our son home. God is good. Love this quote! Thank you for sharing your life. God Bless you.
