Today I am thankful that 3 years ago today, God gave me 4 very special days with one of the most beautiful newborn baby girls I'd ever seen. Holding her, rocking and singing to her, loving her as though she were my own, and dreaming of all she would become for those 4 days meant the world to me. As she celebrated her 3rd birthday today, I thought of her and wondered what she might be doing to celebrate her special day. When I saw in her birthday pictures tonight that she had a pink cake with pearls and bows on it and that she was wearing a polka dot dress and pearls around her neck, I smiled so big. I'm also a big fan of pink, polka dots, and pearls. :) Although she wasn't meant to be our little girl, I will always remember her and love her with a mother's heart. I am so happy she is happy and so loved. ♥

Tears. Sadness. Joy. You have such a big heart Adrienne. You have truly loved, lost and been blessed in abundance for your faithfulness. Thankful for all the love you give so freely to little ones. I'm thankful sweet Ava Rose is doing so well!
I can't believe it has been so long already. You played such a wonderful, nurturing role in the life of that little girl. I hope it gave you peace, not sadness, to see her photos.
